What is the Facade Grant Program?

The Facade Grant Plan is an initiative to support property and business owners in East Point, Georgia, by providing funding to improve the exteriors of their buildings. The goal is to enhance the visual appeal of the community, increase property values, and support local businesses.

You should receive a confirmation email confirming receipt of your submission package . If you do not receve this confirmation, please send a separate email  to confirm it was received.

In-Person Submission or Mailing: 

City of East Point, Attn: City Manager’s Office, 2757 East Point Street, East Point, GA 30344 (If you mail it, please send an email to EconomicDevelopment@eastpointcity.org to indicate that it is on the way due to mailing delays).

General FAQs 

  1. What is the facade grant? A facade grant provides financial assistance to property and business owners to improve the exterior appearance of their properties thru renovations/repairs (ex: lighting, painting, landscaping).
  2. Who is eligible? Eligibility is limited to commercial property owners, business tenants with property owner consent, and properties located within commercially zoned areas in East Point, GA. Religious organizations, nonprofits (non-tax paying entities) or industrial applicants are not eligible to apply. Only one application per owner, commercial property or business is allowed for submission.
  3. How much funding is available and is there a required match? The grant covers up to 75% of the project cost with a 25% required match. The dollar amount ranges from $3,000 – $70,000, depending on project scope and available funding.
  4. How can I apply? Applications will be available online on the City of East Point’s website starting January 15, 2025 at: www.eastpointcity.org. Completed applications must be submitted by February 14, 2025. More details are listed on the application and website. Hard copy applications can be found at City Hall, City Annex, Customer Care, JeƯerson Recreation Center, Law Enforcement Center, East Point Library (if open) and the H.J.C. Bowden Senior Center.
  5. What types of improvements are eligible?
    • Eligible improvements may include:
      Exterior repairs, painting and cleaning
      Replacement of windows, doors, awnings and signage
      Landscaping enhancements, parking lot enhancements (landscape buƯers, striping, etc.)
       Installation of building façade lighting and parking area lighting
      • Repair or restoration of architectural details
  6. How do I stay updated?   7. How will the community be involved? Community involvement is crucial. The City will work closely with local businesses and business related organizations to spread the word. Informational sessions will be hosted both virtually and in person to ensure accessibility.
