Important Announcement: Holiday Schedule for Solid Waste Collection
Due to unforeseen weather conditions, the solid waste collection service will operate on the Holiday schedule on Tuesday, January 27, 2026.
What This Means for Residents
- Your regular collection may be delayed or rescheduled to align with the Holiday schedule.
- Please have your waste containers ready based on the adjusted service times.

All 3 upcoming holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s) fall on Thursdays. The Solid Waste Department (Garbage Collection) will observe the actual day of the Holiday only. All Garbage Collections will resume on the Friday after the holidays. The office will be closed every Friday after the holidays.
Christmas Tree Pick Up!
Solid Waste will be collecting Christmas trees! This service is ongoing and it is required that you leave your trees out on your service day. The Solid Waste team will collect them along with the regular trash.
East Point’s Solid Waste Department is committed to maintaining a safe, sustainable, and clean environment for residents, businesses, and visitors in the City. They serve 44,000 customers weekly and provide excellent services such as Same Day Bulk Pick-up. At the request of a resident, the solid waste division will schedule a special pickup appointment for the collection of bulk materials such as discarded appliances (“white goods”) or large items of furniture. Attention: In the case of inclement weather, please be sure to move your trash receptacles after service has been rendered.
The cost to replace a trash receptacle is $75.

All solid waste must be deposited in plastic bags securely tied with appropriate closure strips so that the contents thereof do not spill and place in covered plastic or metal garbage cans for disposal. It shall be unlawful to fail to store solid waste cans in the rear of the property or as close to the rear as possible on the side of the property to reduce their visibility from the public right-of-way.
